Maskaluna - Complete

Completed.

His suit is his skin. His mask will meld to him when he puts it on, as he has many different masks for all emotions. On his "hat" the bells ooze an unknown substance, either acidic, or just creepy. But the bells still manage to jingle. His belt is made out of stars he plucked from the sky for his own amusement. His hands feel like spider legs when they creep around your neck. His feet are blades, razor sharp, that have seen their share of heads, guts, hands, or any other appendage belonging to his slaves.

Why a melting moon? It is a fantasy to us, a real world he rules. It is a living nightmare; it is a dying dream. Anything can happen and no logic applies.

The background represents the night Svet was taken from her military cell. Taken from a prison to another prison. How unfortunate...

The night before my final sentencing, I was lying awake, contemplating the nothingness of all that I've done in the past. Then meaninglessness became something outside the window. The moon and stars were out. It was a brisk, very clear, black night. Snow was on the ground. There was something out there. I heard it, like a sleigh. I heard the bells. But there were not constant. There was a jingle, then nothing for a while. Perhaps it was a cheap sleigh. Then I saw a shadow in the canopy of the distant trees. It seemed to dance for the moon. It was happy. The stars shined brighter--but out of warning. They were trying to show me the shadow. Just as I seemed to get a clearer image, it disappeared. I couldn't understand. Had my mind played tricks on me?

I heard the jingle again. It was close--too close. I spun around and the light of the moon hit the face of a demented jester, inches from me. I screamed.

I was taken.
